Online scams

I'm sorry, but I no longer have any sympathy for people who get caught in an online scam. The Internet has been around long enough now that anyone who uses it should know that these things happen. I've just read an article about an 18 year old aspiring model who was stupid enough to send nude pictures of herself to someone who claimed to be an agent of an established modelling agency. Of course, it was a scam and she was threatened with 'exposure' if she didn't have sex with him. I have several issues with this. 1. What the hell did her parents teach her about the Internet? Obviously not enough if she could fall for this. 2. Did she think of actually calling the modelling agency and asking if this was legit? Easy enough to do without compromising yourself. 3. Did the promise of $1500 per shoot (when she was taken on as a model) mean her brains went out the window? Didn't that seem too good to be true? She said she had a gut feeling something wasn't right, but she went ahead anyway. Bottom line is: If you're stupid enough to believe these things and get caught in a scam - too bad. I am sick and tired of seeing these things. I'm almost (but not quite) on the side of the scammers. It's not that I don't want them to get caught, I do; they're doing something wrong and they should pay for that. I just don't want to hear about 'victims' of their own stupidity. Cause that's what they are - stupid.
